Official Independence of Venezuela on 05 July 1811

Posted on 03:50 by tripal h
On April 19, 1810, leading citizens of Venezuela voted to break with Spain and declare independence. This declaration was conditional, however: they actually declared themselves loyal to deposed King Ferdinand, then a prisoner of the French. Once Ferdinand was restored, they would revert to colonial status. On July 5, 1811, however, Venezuela declared a complete and irrevocable break from Spain. Led by Simon Bolivar and others, there would be no going back for the first Latin American nation to head out on its own.
From time to time, different historical incidents have modified and led to the creation of the present day Venezuela. Different theories have been woven around the origin and history of Venezuela and its inhabitants over the past thousand years or more. It was believed that the first Venezuelans were traced back at around 13000 B.C., who were actually believed to be settlers from the neighboring nations of Brazil, Guyana and Antilles as we know them in present day. The history of Venezuela is marked by many events.
So here's sharing with you some glimpses about the glorious history of Venezuela.
Spanish Invasion----
Though originally inhabited by natives of Carib and Arawak Indians, it was only in 1498 that Christopher Columbus established itself as Spanish territory followed by a colonial rule by the Spanish rulers for a considerable time. Towards 18th century, there was wide spread revolt against the ruling Spanish empire led by Simón Bolívar against the injustice meted out to them. With the discovery of gold mines in Yaracuy, slavery was introduced thereby leading to class conflicts and growth of feudalism.
Political History of Venezuela in 19 th century---
Within a few days time, political turmoil in then Venezuela received a great impetus with the out break of Napoleonic War in Europe which led to the weakening of Spain's imperial hold over the province. Due to ongoing political conflicts, some regions remained neglected while others were brought under the jurisdiction of Viceroyalty of New Granada in 1777; special emphasis and development were focused on those provinces and regions which served as main source of economy for the rulers. However, on April 19 th in 1810 after a sudden but brief political coup, they achieved independence from the Spanish rulers on 5 th July 1811 which is now officially accepted as Venezuelan Independence Day.
20th Century History of Venezuela—
Simon Bolivar is credited as the leader of freedom struggle in Venezuela along with Jose Paez who declared it a sovereign state on 1830. It was under the rule of Juan Vincente Goméz, between 1909 and 1935, that saw a rapid phase of economic development and growth followed by social expansion and up gradation. In 1936 and 1937, democratic elections were held for the post of Presidency of Venezuela which later on led to the formation of National Assembly. Through out the years, the country has faced political instability as a result successive governments were formed which in fact could last long. It was only in 1992 that Hugo Chavez established himself as important political figure and formed his own party known as Movimiento Quinta República (MVR, the Fifth Republic Movement), and won the Presidential election in 1998, with the support of smaller fractions of political party and formed his own government subsequently.
Further more in the elections of 2000, the citizens of the country saw him as a serious candidate for the post of President of the country and voted him too. He won by a huge majority. Within few days of assuming his office he formulated some constitutional changes thereby increasing more powers for the President.

Simon Bolivar Freed Caracas On 24 June 1812

Posted on 04:05 by tripal h
This soldier and statesman, earned the nickname El Libertador (the liberator), during his resistance against the Spanish colonial occupation. Simon Bolivar was born in Caracas on July 24th, 1783 and enjoyed education in both the Venezuelan capital city and Spain in private schools. Bolivar first fought the Spaniards under the command of Francisco de Miranda in 1810. They were defeated and Bolivar fled the country. In 1812 he undertook a new attempt and one year later, he freed Caracas that he subsequently lead as a dictator. In 1814 the Spaniards resurfaced and Bolivar had to seek refuge in Jamaica and later in Haiti. Bolivar did not give up and joined forces with Jose Antonio Paez and European volunteers. In 1817 he was victorious in his homeland and he installed a revolutionary government at Angostura, which would later be renamed Ciudad Bolivar. Even later he was elected president of Venezuela.
In 1819, Bolivar's forces moved through the Andes to Nova Granada, the former name for Colombia. The Spaniards were defeated with relative ease, so that this area was liberated. Several months later, on December 17, 1819, the Republic of Colombia was announced. This new republic included Nova Granada and Venezuela at this time. Bolivar was the president. The Spaniards tried to retake this area another time, but on June 24th, 1821 he was able finally to ensure the independence after the Battle of Carabobo.
Bolivar dreamed of a united Hispanic America. In 1822 he was able to liberate Quito, which is now known as Ecuador, from Spain. Quito was also annexed in The Republic of Colombia. In 1824 Bolivar led the revolutionaries who wanted to liberate Peru and one year later he became president of that country. In May 1925 he formed a new republic within Peru, now known as Bolivia, which was named after him. To ensure the independence of the new countries Bolivar organized inter-American conferences. But he failed in his quest for a political unity. In August 1828 he resigned as president on April 27, 1830, and he withdrew himself fully as a disillusioned man. In Venezuela and Bolivia his birthday is still the national holiday and in other South American nations, he is still honored as El Libertador. In Colombia you will find many statues of Simon Bolivar. On national holidays people lay flowers on his statues.

Lebanon and Islam (Hizbollah)

Posted on 08:50 by tripal h
Watch in this video a short view on Lebnan and Islamic Culture and Battle for Qudas  In the summer of 1982, Husayn Al-Musawi, deputy head and official spokesman of Amal, broke with Berri over his willingness to go along with U.S. mediation in Lebanon rather than attack Israeli troops, his membership in the National Salvation Council alongside the Christians, and his opposition to pledging allegiance to Ayatollah Khomeini. Musawi formed the Islamist Islamic Amal Movement, based in Baalbeck. It was aided by the Islamic Republic of Iran which, in the wake of the 1979 Islamic Revolution, strove not only to help Lebanon's Shi'a, but to export the PanIslamic revolution to the rest of the Muslim world, something Musawi strongly supported, saying, "We are her [i.e. the Islamic Republic's] children." We are seeking to formulate an Islamic society which in the final analysis will produce an Islamic state. ...
The Islamic revolution will march to liberate Palestine and Jerusalem, and the Islamic state will then spread its authority over the region of which Lebanon is only a part.

Blood Stained Democracy (America) Holocaust at Iraq and Afghanistan

Posted on 14:24 by tripal h
Islam is a religion of peace. Islam does not promote terrorism or the killing of people.
I cannot sit by and let the world think that Islam is a killing religion. It hurts me to see what radical people are doing in the name of Islam. These radicals are doing things that God is against. Muslims do not believe in violence.
If the culprits are Muslim, they have twisted the teachings of Islam. Whoever performed, or is behind, the terrorist attacks in the United States of America does not represent Islam. God is not behind assassins. Anyone involved in this must pay for their evil.
Hatred caused this tragedy and adding to the hatred that already exists in the world will not help. Instead, we should try to understand each other better.
Americans are warm, loving and hospitable people, and we share many of the same values. I ask that churches and synagogues all across the nation invite representatives of the Islamic faith into their places of worship, to better understand Islam. This could help us all respect each other more.
I pray that God blesses the people and families of those who were killed, and our great country."

Abu Ghraib torture Video Released First Time on TV
Is there no end to America's photo fallout over Iraq? Since CBS first broadcast the torture snaps from Abu Ghraib prison on 29 April 2004, followed by further revelations of torture and photographic evidence in the New Yorker on 1 May and in the Washington Post on 6 May, the pictures have appeared everywhere. They have gone 'to the ends of the Earth', says one American writer, 'and have painted brilliantly and indelibly an image of America that could remain with us for years, if not decades'

Sir Joshua Reynolds (British Painter Died on 20 April)

Posted on 06:55 by tripal h
Sir Joshua Reynolds, (born July 16, 1723, Plympton, Devon, Eng.—died Feb. 23, 1792, London), portrait painter and aesthetician who dominated English artistic life in the middle and late 18th century. Through his art and teaching, he attempted to lead British painting away from the indigenous anecdotal pictures of the early 18th century toward the formal rhetoric of the continental Grand Style. With the founding of the Royal Academy in 1768, Reynolds was elected its first president and knighted by King George III.

Charlie Chaplin (Birthday and Biography)

Posted on 07:31 by tripal h
Sir Charles Spencer "Charlie" Chaplin, KBE (16 April 1889 – 25 December 1977) was an English comic actor, film director and composer best known for his work during the silent film era. He became the most famous film star in the world before the end of World War I. Chaplin used mime, slapstick and other visual comedy routines, and continued well into the era of the talkies, though his films decreased in frequency from the end of the 1920s. His most famous role was that of The Tramp, which he first played in the Keystone comedy Kid Auto Races at Venice in 1914. From the April 1914 one-reeler Twenty Minutes of Love onwards he was writing and directing most of his films, by 1916 he was also producing them, and from 1918 he was even composing the music for them. With Mary Pickford, Douglas Fairbanks and D. W. Griffith, he co-founded United Artists in 1919.
Chaplin was one of the most creative and influential personalities of the silent-film era. He was influenced by his predecessor, the French silent film comedian Max Linder, to whom he dedicated one of his films. His working life in entertainment spanned over 75 years, from the Victorian stage and the music hall in the United Kingdom as a child performer, until close to his death at the age of 88. His high-profile public and private life encompassed both adulation and controversy. Chaplin was identified with Left-wing politics during the McCarthy era and he was ultimately forced to resettle in Europe from 1952.
In 1999, the American Film Institute ranked Chaplin the 10th greatest male screen legend of all time. In 2008, Martin Sieff, in a review of the book Chaplin: A Life, wrote: "Chaplin was not just 'big', he was gigantic. In 1915, he burst onto a war-torn world bringing it the gift of comedy, laughter and relief while it was tearing itself apart through World War I. Over the next 25 years, through the Great Depression and the rise of Adolf Hitler, he stayed on the job. ... It is doubtful any individual has ever given more entertainment, pleasure and relief to so many human beings when they needed it the most". George Bernard Shaw called Chaplin "the only genius to come out of the movie industry".

Civilian Death Statistics in Iraq , Afghanistan Compared, Afghanistan Compared

chart1 Civilian Death Statistics in Iraq & Afghanistan Comparedchart3 Civilian Death Statistics in Iraq & Afghanistan Compared
Interesting Statistical Comparisons
Every 9.62 days, there is an equivalent amount of casualties in Iraq & Afghanistan as September 11th.
There are 9.65 Virginia Tech shootings in Iraq & Afghanistan everyday.
There are 1.61 Madrid bombings in Iraq & Afghanistan everyday.
In 11 days as many Iraqi & Afghani civilians are killed as the entire amount of American military personnel killed since the invasion of Afghanistan in 2002 and the invasion of Iraq in 2003.
Note: There is some discrepancy between various sources on the amount of civilian casualties since the US-led invasion in March 2003. A study in October of 2006 listed over 650,000 killed (see Washington Post article below) while other sources vary from 400,000 to just over 60,000 (see British-government funded Iraq Body Count below). I computed 250,000 by averaging several sources, though I personally feel this is a low number.
Update: The differing methodologies among these studies led to these wide variations. For example, the lowest figure from IBC is based solely on media reports of violent deaths, while the Lancet study surveyed random families in Iraq and includes non-violent war related deaths, such as those dead to lawlessness and collapsed infrastructure. I computed 250,000 to use as a useful estimate by averaging these sources, though I personally feel this is a low number when talking about the impact of the US invasion on Iraq.

(Must Listen Urdu Speech) Leader’s Address to the “Islamic Awakening and Youth” Conference

Posted on 01:04 by tripal h
Leader's Address to Participants of "Islamic Awakening and Youth" Conference
Here is English Translation of His Speech while video has been dubbed in Urdu
Must Listen for Unity of all muslims
In the Name of Allah, the All-Beneficent, the All-Merciful
I welcome you all, [our] dear guests, dear youth, the conveyors of great tidings for the future of the Islamic Ummah. Every one of you conveys a great tiding. When the youth are awake in a country, the hope for general awakenings increases in that country. Today, our youth are awake all through the Islamic world. There are so many traps on their way, but the devout and determined Muslim youth have saved themselves from such pitfalls. You see what has happened in Tunisia, in Egypt, in Libya, in Yemen and in Bahrain; what movement has begun in other Muslim countries. These are all good tidings.
What I tell you, the dear youth and my own children, is that you should know that the history of the world [and] the history of humanity has reached a major historical turn. This is the dawn of a new era across the entire world. The big and clear sign of this era is attention to the Almighty and asking for help from His inexhaustible source of power and reliance on divine revelations. Humanity has gone beyond materialistic schools of thought and ideologies. Today, neither Marxism is appealing, nor is the Western liberal democracy; you see what is going on in the birthplace of the Western liberal democracy, in the US and Europe; they have owned to their failure; nor nationalist secular figures are attractive. Today, the highest attraction among the Muslim Ummah belongs to Islam, to the Holy Quran, to divine religions as the Almighty has promised that divine religion and revelations and the endeared Islam can guide humanity to prosperity. This is a very auspicious, important and meaningful phenomenon.
Today, in Muslim countries, people have risen up against dependent dictators; this is a prelude to an uprising against global dictatorship and international dictatorship, which is dictatorship of the corrupt and ominous network of Zionist and arrogant powers. Today, international tyranny and international dictatorship has been embodied by dictatorship of the US, the allies of the US and the satanic and dangerous Zionist network. Today, they are imposing their dictatorship on the whole world through different methods and various means. What you did in Egypt, [you] did in Tunisia, [you] did in Libya, and are doing in Yemen and are doing in Bahrain, its motives are powerfully present in other countries; it is part of the struggle against this dangerous and harmful dictatorship which has been exerting pressure on humanity for two centuries. The historical turn I mentioned, is a change from domination of such dictatorship to the emancipation of nations and the rule of spiritual and divine values; this is sure to happen; do not doubt it.
This is the divine promise [that] "God will verily help those who help Him." The Almighty emphasizes that if you help him, He will help you. This may seem to be a remote possibility in an ordinary approach and in terms of materialistic calculations; however, many things looked improbable, but they actually happened. Did you think one year or [even] two or three months ago that the tyrant of Egypt would be so humiliated and destroyed? If somebody had told you then that the dependent, corrupt regime of Mubarak would fall, you might have doubted it; but it did happen. If somebody claimed two years ago that such strange events would take place in North Africa, most of you would have disbelieved. If somebody had said that in a country like Lebanon, a group of faithful youth would defeat the Zionist regime and the well-equipped Zionist army, nobody would have believed them; but [all of] these [things] did happen. If somebody had said that the Islamic Republic would be able to resist 32 years against all this adversity from the East and the West, and would become progressively stronger and advanced, nobody would believed them; but it did happen. "Allah has promised you many gains that you shall acquire, and He has given you these beforehand; and He has restrained the hands of men from you; that it may be a Sign for the Believers, and that He may guide you to a Straight Path." Such triumphs are divine signs; these are signs of the mighty power of Truth that the Almighty is showing us. When people enter the arena, when we enter what we have into the arena, the victory will surely come from God. The Almighty will show us the path. "And those who strive in Our (cause), We will certainly guide them to our Paths." God both guides, and helps and makes people achieve lofty goals provided that we are present in the arena.
What has happened up to this day is very great. The West ruled the Islamic Ummah for two hundred years by relying on their scientific advances; they conquered the Islamic countries; some directly and some indirectly with the help of local dictators. The UK, France, and ultimately, the United States - which is the Great Satan - gained domination over the Islamic Ummah. They did everything they could to humiliate the Islamic Ummah; they planted the cancerous tumor of Zionism in the heart of the Middle East - this sensitive region - and offered it all-out support and were sure that their goals and policies would be realized in this very important part of the world. However, faith-based aspirations, Islamic aspirations, [and] people's presence have disturbed all these evil dreams; [they] have impeded all these goals.
Today, the global arrogance feels grounded in the face of the Islamic Awakening. You are triumphant; you are victorious; the future belongs to you. What has been done [thus far] has been a great job; but this is not the end of it all - this is important - this is just the beginning; it has [just] started. Muslim nations should continue their struggle so that they would be able to eliminate enemies in different arenas.
[Our] struggle is a struggle of aspirations, determinations and wills. Any side, whose determination is more powerful, will prevail. That side, whose heart leans towards the Almighty, will be victorious. "If Allah helps you, none can overcome you." If you earn the help of God, nobody will prevail over you; you will proceed. We want Muslim nations which make up the great Islamic Ummah to be free, independent, dignified, but not humiliated; we want them to organize their lives in accordance with progressive and lofty rules of Islam; and Islam can [help them]. They held us back in scientific terms for many long years; they trampled on our culture [and] did away with our independence. Today, we have woken up. We will conquer scientific arenas one after the other.
When the Islamic Republic was established 30 years ago, the enemies said the Islamic Revolution had won, but it would not be able to manage the fields of life one after another and would [eventually] retreat. Today, our youth, thanks to Islam, have been able to accomplish great tasks in the field of science, which they themselves had never imagined in the past. Today, thanks to their reliance on God, Iranian youths have gained great scientific achievements: they enrich uranium, produce and grow stem cells, and take great steps in biotechnology, conquer the space; [they do] all of this by reliance on God and with the slogan of “God is Great.”
We [should] not underestimate out capabilities. Among the biggest scourges that the Western culture has inflicted upon Muslim countries were two false and deviatory illusions: one [was] the inculcation of the inability of the Muslim nations; making them believe that “you are not capable of anything, neither in the field of politics, not in the field of economy, nor in the field of science.” They said “you are weak.” We [in] Muslim countries have retained the wrong opinion for tens of long years and lagged behind. The second suggestion and second belief they injected in us was the infinity and invincibility of the might of our enemies. So they made us believe that the US could not be defeated, the West could not be driven back; [that] we had to bear and forebear in confrontation with them.
Today, it has become clear to the Muslim nations that both of these beliefs are absolutely wrong. Muslim nations can move ahead; they can revive the majesty and magnificence of Muslims, who were once at the peak of glory and summits of scientific, political and social splendor and the enemy would have to retreat in various fields.
This age is the century of Islam. This age is the century of spirituality. Islam gifts nations with both rationality and spirituality; an Islam of rationality, an Islam of contemplation and thought, an Islam of spirituality, an Islam of reliance on God, an Islam of Jihad, an Islam of efforts, an Islam of action; these are all Godly and Islamic teachings for us.
What is significant today is that the enemy, faced with the blow it has more or less suffered in Egypt, Tunisia, Libya and other countries in the region, is busy plotting and conspiring. [One] should be aware of the enemy schemes. [One] should be careful so that they would not steal people's revolutions from them, [or] deviate courses. Use others' experience. The enemy does a lot to deviate revolutions, to neutralize movements, to foil endeavors [that are made] and the blood that had been shed; one should be careful, one should be alert. You youths are the engines of these movements; be alert, be aware.
We have had great experiences in the past 32 years. It is 32 years since we have been combating the enemies, we have been resisting, and gained victory over our enemies. There has been no single scheme that the West and the US have refrained from. They have not done everything, because they could not. They did all they afforded and at all points they were smacked in the mouth and defeated. It will be the same afterwards. After this, too, they will fail in all schemes against the Islamic Republic; this is a divine promise to us and we have no doubt.
We do not doubt the trueness of divine promises. We do not suspect God. God blames those who doubt Him; and “He may punish the Hypocrites, men and women, and the Polytheists men and women, who imagine an evil opinion of Allah. On them is a round of Evil: the Wrath of Allah is on them: He has cursed them and got Hell ready for them: and evil is it for a destination.” The promise of God is a true promise. We have entered the field, inside the battlefield -- the Iranian nation has brought all its facilities onto the stage; thus, divine victory is definite. In all other countries it is the same. But we should be alert. We all should be alert. We all should be careful about the enemies' deceits. The enemy tries to neutralize movements, and sow discord.
Today, the Islamic movement in the Muslim world does not know Shia or Sunni; does not distinguish between Shafi'ite or Hanafite or Jafari or Maliki or Hanbali or Zaidi; does not know Arab or Persian or other nationalities; in this great field, all are present. We should try so the enemy may not divide us. We should all feel like brothers, and specify the goal. The goal is Islam; the goal is a Qur'anic and Islamic government. Of course there are commonalities among Muslim countries; there are differences, too. There is no single pattern for all Muslim countries. In different countries, geographical conditions, historical conditions, social conditions are different; but there are common principles: we are all the enemies of the arrogant powers; we all oppose the evil domination and rule of the West, [and] we all oppose the existence of the cancerous tumor of Israel.
Wherever there is a feeling that what is being done benefits Israel, benefits the United States, it is where we have to be alert; we [should] know that this move is an outsider's move; a stranger's move; it is not a friendly move. Wherever a move is an Islamic and anti-Zionist and anti-arrogance and anti-oppression and anti-corruption one, it is where the move is the right move; it is where all friends are; we are Shias, we are Sunnis, we are from this or that country. It makes no difference; we should all think alike.
Today, this is a basic and tangible example; all the media organizations in the world are trying to isolate the people of Bahrain and the movement in Bahrain. What is their claim about this? It is the issue of Shia and Sunni [faiths]. They want to create divisions, want to create distinction and demarcation. There are no differences among those Muslims and believers who follow this or that Islamic faith. The common among them all is Islam. The common point is the Muslim Ummah. The common point is solidarity among the Muslim Ummah. The key to the continuation and victory of the movement is reliance on God, confidence in God, trust in God and maintaining unity and integrity.
My dear ones, my children, be aware lest the enemy might not hinder your movement. God tells His prophet on two occasions: “Therefore stand firm (in the straight Path) as thou art commanded,” stand firm. Standing firm means resisting, carrying on, pursuing a path, refusing to stop, it is the key.
We should move ahead. This movement is a successful movement because it has bright horizons. The horizon is bright. The future is a very bright future. A day will come when the Muslim Ummah, with the power and might of God, will rise to utmost majesty and independence. Muslim nations [should] while retaining their specifications and distinctions, stand under the single banner of the invitation to God and Islam; should be all together. It is then that the Muslim Ummah will find its glory.
We in our countries have underground resources, strategic regions, plentiful natural facilities, remarkable figures, talented and advanced human resources; we should make efforts. God will bless these efforts, God willing.
I [should] tell you youths that the future belongs to you. With the power of the Almighty God and with His permission, you youths will see that day and God willing, you will be able to leave your achievement to posterity.
May God's mercy, compassion and blessings be upon you!

Hollywood Attacks Iran Nuclear Plant (Planning of Satan)

Posted on 23:16 by tripal h
Transformers 3 Dark of the MoonAttack on Iran shown in American Movie - English
The remarkable thing about the Transformers trilogy, this is despite the government's hostility Dmfzayyha America First Party, the makers of this film work - would have imagined it to halt Iran's nuclear program, Dmfzayyha the United States to America. Dmfzayyha also purpose of protecting the security of the world! In fact, the hero if it was present in the real space of the street protests against the government in America, but America would rather have American directors such as personality
The Autobots aren’t here for the good of humanity; they’re here for the good of America. We catch up with them attacking a nuclear weapons facility in an unknown Middle Eastern country (probably Iran). Luckily, the Transformers’ political ideology closely mirrors our own, with Optimus Prime regularly spouting off declarations of freedom. Absurdities aside (and this film can be as dumb as it is big), this is the most massive summer movie you have ever seen, and it throws near-perfect action scenes at you like it’s no big deal for two and a half hours. The movie has serious story problems, and we’ll get to that later, but the fact remains that this is one of the best action movies ever made, both for its eye-watering visual effects and the choreography of destruction. To top it off, the 3D is actually really good, shot with the same cameras as Avatar, though not quite as effective. The movie has shades of James Cameron in it, but while Michael Bay has become the best action director around, he can’t squeeze a drop of emotional connection out of his characters, as Cameron could with ease. The movie is definitely too long, and a lot of fat could have been trimmed from the first and second acts, because by the time you walk out you will be exhausted.

Iran Seized Three British Navy Boats (Full Urdu Documentary)

Posted on 04:54 by tripal h
Now First Time They released Full Urdu Documentary of event occurred in Iranian Sea when Iranian Army Siezed Three British Navy Boats on 21 June 2004
Britain has confirmed that eight of its military personnel were being held by Iran after they were captured in three small boats in the Shatt Al Arab waterway between southern Iran and Iraq.
"We can confirm that eight Royal Navy personnel from the Royal Navy training team based in southern Iraq have been detained by the Iranian authorities while delivering a boat from Umm q a s r to Basra," Britain's Ministry of Defence said in a statement.
Iran seized three British naval boats alleged to have entered its territorial waters near the Iraqi border, detaining eight crew, the Iranian Foreign Ministry says.
"This morning, three British boats with eight people on board entered Iranian territorial waters, the Iranian Navy, in accordance with their duties, seized these boats and arrested the crew," spokesman Hamid Reza Asefi said in a statement.
"Currently they are being interrogated and an investigation is underway," he said.
Official sources confirmed the boats were "military" and identified the detained Britons as "military personnel".
Earlier Iranian state television's Arabic-language channel, Al Alam, said that "weapons and maps" were seized in the incident on the Shatt Al Arab waterway where the Tigris and Euphrates rivers flow into the Gulf and which marks the southern boundary between Iran and Iraq
British armed forces control an area of southern Iraq around the city of Basra and patrol parts of the Shatt Al Arab with small boats.
The incident comes as Iran faces increasing pressure from western nations including Britain to abandon parts of its nuclear program.
Iran seized three British military patrol boats Monday in the Shatt-al-Arab waterway, Iraq's main link with the Persian Gulf, and eight armed crewmen were detained for entering Iranian territorial waters.
Britain confirmed the seizures and said it was in contact with Iran to resolve the situation.
The waterway that divides Iran and Iraq has long been a source of tension between the neighbors. The 1980-88 Iran-Iraq war broke out after then-Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein claimed the entire waterway.
Monday's incident follows a strain in relations after Britain helped draft a resolution rebuking Iran for past nuclear cover-ups at last week's meeting of the International Atomic Energy Agency's board of governors.
Iran says its program is aimed only at producing energy, while the United States accuses Tehran of trying to develop nuclear weapons. Iran accused Britain, which it had seen as a partner in the investigation into its nuclear activities, of caving in to U.S. pressure on the resolution.
The British Foreign Office said it was told by Iran that eight Royal Navy personnel are being held. "We've asked for full details on who is holding them, where they're being held and for full access to them," the Foreign Office said.
Iran Foreign Ministry spokesman Hamid Reza Asefi said Iranian naval guards, "acting upon their legal duty," seized the boats and detained the occupants when they entered Iran's territorial waters, according to the official Islamic Republic News Agency.
The Arabic-language Al-Alam television reported the three British boats were seized at about 11 a.m. and that crew members were carrying maps and weapons.
It said the boats were confiscated between the Bahmanshir and Arvand rivers, which would put them in the Shatt-al-Arab waterway, northeast of the Iraqi city of Faw. The broadcast gave no further details.
"Interrogation of those detained will continue until the matter is clarified," Asefi was quoted as saying by the main Persian language TV channel.
The British Defense Ministry said the personnel from the Royal Navy training team based in southern Iraq had been detained while delivering a boat from Umm Qasr to Basra, Iraq, to the new Iraqi Riverine Patrol Service.
"The boats are unarmed but the crews were carrying their personal weapons," a statement said.
The Foreign Office said it had asked for details and full access to the detained men.

Backstage at Iraq (Urdu Documentary)

Backstage at Iraq (Urdu Documentary)
Just as America 's leaders claimed they believed the drunken, crazy ranting of a pathological liar, so too Americans claim they believe the fanatical ravings of the congenital liars of the state. Americans need to wake up, realize that the state is just the biggest criminal Ponzi scheme in history, and that you cannot continue to live a lie indefinitely. For most Americans, this day appears to be fast approaching.
The real lesson of why the US attacked Iraq is massive government incompetence and criminal malfeasance allowed by a people who were totally gullible and ignorant to stop it. Americans should realize that the US government is their own worst enemy, and their political leaders are incompetent at best and wholly criminal at worst. It is not just a case of Republicans versus Democrats, liberals versus conservatives, as all have contributed to the downfall of America . There is no simple solution of just getting the right people elected, as the whole system is rotten at its core. The only way to avoid the catastrophe of war is if each person accepts that no person, or group of persons, even if they call themselves politicians and leaders, may use their freedom to violate the freedom of another person. People must accept that it is wrong to kill innocent foreigners, to destroy their property, and that killing and stealing for the state is just as wrong as an individual killing and stealing. It is not patriotic to follow the criminal dictates of parasitic leaders who use blind obedience to violate the rights of others. The only hope for America is that her people will lose their collectivist herd mentality inculcated by the state and its indoctrination centers, reject the state and its minions as the slavers of humanity they are, and accept individualism and the responsibility to direct their own life in voluntary cooperation, association, and trade.

Imam Khomeni (r.a) in Neauphle Chateau, France and Back to Iran

Posted on 18:26 by tripal h
Imam Khomeini (r.a) continued his struggle during his 15 years stay in Iraq. He was instructed by the government of Iraq to halt his involvement in Political involvement. Imam (r.a) replied that he is carrying out his religious obligation. He then migrated to France and continued his journey of awakening the Ummah. This documentary states some of the difficulties and pressure that the late Imam had to go through but his persistence and strong belief in Allah (s.w.t) helped him to stay steadfast.
The late Imam (r.a) and his movement is a lesson for us and all the Islamic scholars. May his soul rest in peace.
This movement of awakening started by Imam Khomeini (r.a) still continues under the leadership of our Leader, Wali Amr Muslimeen, Ayatullah Sayyed Ali Khamenei (h.a). This movement (nehzat) sets a stage for the reappearance of our Master and Maula Imam Mahdi (a.t.f.s). May our lives be sacrificed for Imam Al-Hujja, Imam Sahib al Asr e Wazzaman, Baqiatullah, Imam Mahdi (a.s).

A CIA Spy Confessed to Having Been on a Mission to Infiltrate the Iranian Intelligence Ministry

Posted on 03:14 by tripal h
Iranian state television channels on Sunday aired video of a young man alleged to be a captured CIA spy of Iranian origin confessing to a "mission" to infiltrate the intelligence ministry. The television named the man as Amir Mirza Hekmati and said he was born in the US state of Arizona. The short video segments were presented as teasers for a longer video report that was to be shown later Sunday. The man, clean-shaven and looking to be in his twenties, was accused of being a CIA agent who, according to an Iranian intelligence ministry statement Saturday, was first identified at the US-run Bagram Air Base in Afghanistan.
In the video, the man -- of Middle Eastern appearance -- spoke fluent Farsi.
The television showed a card written in English with an eagle emblem and identifying the bearer as an "Army Contractor" along with the words "Overseas MWR Commissary".
The card appeared to be for access to shops and leisure facilities in US military bases under a Defence Department programme known as Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR).
Several photos of the man were also shown, some of them with him in a military uniform, others with him in traditional Arab garb.
The report said the man was fluent in Farsi and Arabic.
In the video, the man spoke about his alleged "mission," saying it involved him copying information from a CIA website and offering it to the Iranians to attract their interest.
"Their plan was to first give some valuable information to the (Iranian intelligence ministry officials) so they could see whether it was good or bad, so that they would contact me," he said.
The Iranian intelligence ministry said Saturday it had arrested a CIA spy before he successfully infiltrate the ministry to "feed it deceptive information on a large scale and spy on it."
It said "the Iranian-origin CIA agent received complex training, had worked as an analyst and also worked with the US military in Iraq and Afghanistan."
Iran frequently accuses the United States of seeking to undermine its regime through covert operations.
Evidence of part of the US spying programme towards Iran came to light this month when Tehran displayed a US reconnaissance drone it said it had captured.

Complete Video Killing of a Woman by Egyptian Army - 17Dec11
Photos and videos are spreading on the internet of Egyptian troops brutalizing women with metal poles, while kicking them, tearing their clothes, and stomping on their breasts. Protesters have been calling for the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces (SCAF), which has been governing Egypt since Hosni Mubarak was forced to step down in February, to step down and turn the government over the civilian control. However, Prime Minister Kamal al-Ganzuri raised tensions on Saturday by accusing the protesters of being counter-revolutionaries and denying security forces had opened fire:
"Those who are in Tahrir Square are not the youth of the revolution. This is not a revolution, but a counter-revolution."
